More Botanic Garden photos.

It was very noticeable the grass near trees was left higher near the base of trees.
A ranger explained the reasons:-
* to protect the trees from mower and whipper-snipper damage
* habitat for skinks etc
* habitat and protection for germinaters
* increased moisture retention
