Abschiedsstimmung -.-

Gestern war unser letzter Arbeitstag bei OPAC auf der Kiwiplantage, da ab jetzt keine Backpacker mehr gebraucht werden. Die größte Arbeit auf den Feldern ist getan und die Kiwis müssen jetzt nur noch größer werden, bis sie ab Anfang März abgeerntet werden. Für unseren Aufenthalt in Opotiki nähert sich langsam das Ende und Aufbruchstimmung macht sich breit. Nach dem gestrigen gemütlichen Weihnachtsabend zu viert, haben Anna & Kevin "Oddi" flott gemacht und sind heute in Richtung Lake Taupo aufgebrochen. Es war wirklich sooo schön das wir, so viele Kilometer von Deutschland entfernt, zusammen gefunden haben. Auch wenn wir fast nur gearbeitet haben und wenig zusammen reisen konnten sagen wir Danke für die wirklich schöne Zeit mit euch! Ist ziemlich komisch jetzt wieder alleine zu sein. Für uns heißt es jetzt noch die letzten Kleinigkeiten unserer Umbauarbeiten in Bad und Küche für unsere Gastfamilie fertigzustellen und ab circa Mitte nächster Woche geht es auch für uns auf in neue Abenteuer. Der weitere Plan lautet Tauranga, Rotorua, Lake Taupo, Tangario Alpine Crossing, Napier/Hastings, Wellington und dann endlich rüber auf die Südinsel. Das Geld auf dem Konto sollte wohl eine ganze Weile reichen. :D

Bye bye working place -.-

Yesterday we had our last working day at OPAC, cause they don't need the backpackers any more. The main work in the orchards is done and from now on the kiwi fruit just needs to grow bigger till the beginning of March, when the picking starts. Our time in Opotiki comes to the end and we are getting a bit sad. After we had a lovly 'christmas-like evening' with Anna and Kevin yesterday, they started travelling towards Taupo. We are so happy that we came together, even this far away from Germany. We worked a lot, but still had - just - a few trips together. We wanted to say thank you for an awesome time with you! (: It feels a little bit weird to be alone again. For our last week in Opotiki we try to get the rest of the bathroom and kitchen building done. After that we also say Goodbye to our host family and to Opotiki. Our next destinations will be Tauranga, Rotorua, Lake Taupo, Tongariro Alpine Crossing, Napier/Hastings, Wellington and finally heading to the south island.
