    Cairo International Airport

    I am finally in Egypt, the place I was looking forward to the most on my entire trip!
    The traffic is crazy, no lanes, cars everywhere, tailgating, slamming of brakes, mounting kerbs and lots of tooting of horns!
    Our guide told us that they have stop lights but no one obeys and 25% of drivers dont have license and that crossing the road is an adventure - let's just say I believe him!

    When we arrived we were escorted to our coach where we had a Police escort all the way to the hotel. We were told the whole wee we would have a Police Officer escorting us in each city.    Okumaya devam et

    Egyptian Museum

    First thing is first, the Egyptian Museum! We weren't allowed to take pictures inside but I took a few from outside. The museum was built in 1920. In the museum there is 120 thousand pieces displayed and a total of 2 million. Egypt have two flowers the lotus, which represents lower Egypt (northern), and the papyrus flower for upper Egypt (southern). There is only one replica in the whole museum.
    Inside the museum we got to see mummies, it was crazy to think how old they were and hiw the Egyptians preserved the bodies.    Okumaya devam et

    Giza Pyramids & Sphinx

    Where do I even start? Today exceeded every expectation I had! It would hands down be the best day I have had on this holiday. We went to see the Pyramids and Sphinx in Giza, we went on the 'panoramic camel tour' so that we could see all three pyramids! My camel's name was Daisy and to start off we were linked together, by the end I was in control of her - I knew how to make her turn left and right, stop, walk and the best command of all was run. The pyramids
    were huge, we got to go inside of the smallest one where we had to crouch over and walk up about 45m to get inside. I just can't get over the fact that the Khufu Pyramid was opened in 2560BC and it took 100,000 men 30 years to build. It is the largest and oldest pyramid in the world, the base is 230m wide.

    After the pyramids we went to see the Sphinx it was crazy to see, it kinda didn't feel like I was actually there. It was huge, a lot bigger than I expected. It blows my mind to think how many men and how many years went in to building the Sphinx and Pyramids.    Okumaya devam et

    Thousand and One Night

    I didn't have high expectations for this place, but it was great! It is a perfumery but instead of mixing the flower's oils with alcohol to make a spray they leave it as a concentrate. The perfumes smelt incredible and I ended up spending quite a bit of money there, but I now have Egyptian perfume!

    While we were there we enjoyed Turkish coffee and the others had Shisha. It has such a chilled atmosphere, none of us wanted to leave!    Okumaya devam et

    Sara Hotel

    The view from our balcony at the Sara Hotel was incredible, if only the rest of the hotel was as incredible! The hotel stunk of cigarettes and was dirty, lucky we only stayed there one night!

    Felucca Ride

    The Felucca ride was a lot of fun, we were singing and dancing around the boat with an Egyptian lad. Also as we were drifting along two children on a paddle board held on to the side of the boat and began singing to us, it wasn't long until they started putting their hand out for money.Okumaya devam et

    Nubian Village

    The Nubian Village was very interesting, the guide we had was very knowledgeable as he is married to a Nubian.
    As we walked into his house there was a glass tank with a baby crocodile inside and then larger cage with two larger crocodiles inside. The guide said they will keep the crocodiles until they are about 8 years old then release them back into the lake. They keep them in their houses to warn bad spirts away. If they die they take meat out and dry the skin in the sun with salt and hang it on a door in the house.
    Most Nubians speak Nubian (which is only an oral language, not written), Arabic and English.
    A lot of words are missing in the Nubian language and are often replaced with English words. Which makes it easier for English speakers to pick up conversation topic whereas it is unlikely that English speakers will pick up conversation topic if they were speaking Arabic.
    Another interesting fact is that Egyptian women move into the mans house and

    Abu Simbil - Two Temples

    These two temples are incredible! The Great Temple of Ramesses II is on the left and the Small Temple of Nefertari is on the right.

    The Abu Simbel temples are two massive rock temples at Abu Simbel (أبو سمبل in Arabic), a village in Nubia, southern Egypt, near the border with Sudan. They are situated on the western bank of Lake Nasser, about 230 km southwest of Aswan (about 300 km by road).

    The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC, as a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari, to commemorate his victory at the Battle of Kadesh.

    The complex was relocated in its entirety in 1968, on an artificial hill made from a domed structure, high above the Aswan High Damreservoir. The relocation of the temples was necessary to avoid their being submerged during the creation of Lake Nasser, the massive artificial water reservoir formed after the building of the Aswan High Dam on the Nile River.

    The temples were incredible inside, once again we weren't able to take photos inside. The walls were lined with pictures carved into the wall and painted.    Okumaya devam et

    Candia Hotel

    First night back as a group and what better way to spend it than drinking on the roof top of our hotel as the sun goes down!     Our last stop in Greece, let's just say Kavala did not disappoint. We went put for dinner in smaller groups, I was with Jayden, Hayden, Ashlee, Georgia, Tori & Jessie. After dinner we headed to what looked like a local fair after a few drinks and went onto the dodgem cars. It was the most fun I have had in ages!Okumaya devam et
