• Old Town Walk

    Before lunch I did a short 5KM loop round the old part of Philadelphia (I should stress is not that old by European standards). I visited:

    • The tombs of the unknown soldier in Washington Square
    • First Bank of the US, opened 1791 and is the oldest federal building in the US.
    • Carpenters Hall, where the first continental congress was held in 1774 to resolve grievances with the United Kingdom, it was these grievances that led to the American revolution.
    • Spruce Street Harbour Park
    • Benjamin Franklin Bridge
    • Elfreth’s Alley Museum
