ViajanteI loved Hovenweep. I went there to spend one night and ended up staying five nights because the campsites were wonderful and there were almost no others. I think the around the rim hike you are writing about is five miles. I did several other hikes because I wanted to see all the ruins and didn't have an appropriate vehicle for the access roads. collapsed before the end of one of them and had to nap under a juniper tree before my body would let me finish the hike. Midday heat, in canyons, drinking water almost too hot to drink, and no shade in the bottom of the canyons.
