Fun & Games

A wonderful day in Austin. Wendy and I went to see the Troll in Pease Park. It's as cool as all the others I've seen but unfortunately when you've already seen 4, the 5th one is not quite as awe inspiring (or shocking). I guess that's true for many things. After seeing shocking stuff over and over it's not as shocking. Will our democracy survive constant insults, will people become complacent, will the new Hitler destroy what is left of humanity and human decency? It is a very scary & ..... I can't think of a word to describe my fear.

Okay. Enough of that

Wendy and I met with Arlie, Catherine and Shirley at Emerald Tavern Games & Cafe. We had such a good time. I'm usually not all that into games but playing with these ladies was great. First we played Anomia & then Code Names. Neither were strategy games or games that required you to remember what cards had been played. Maybe I found out what types of games I liked. We laughed and laughed. Much more interactive and interesting than any other games I've played. Also the place was packed, the waiter was so personable, the food & drinks were good and they have a huge selection of Mead! What more could one need!Read more
