Another Day at Sea!
19 februari 2023, Gulf of Mexico ⋅ 🌬 25 °C
We set sail last night and upon waking this morning, we are were somewhere in the channel between Cuba and Cancun. The water is a little less smooth .... so I took a pre-emptive Bonine. The old boy is just fine. I had tucked into bed at 8:30pm last night. I was so incredibly relaxed after my "BEST EVER" massage that I just wanted to go to bed. So, I never even finished up the blog from Cozumel. I figured I'd have plenty of time during our sea days to get caught up!
We slept in until 7:30am!! It was fabulous. By the time we headed up for breakfast ... it was 8:30am. The stars were divinely aligned because who should we see upon entering the restaurant ... Terry and Theresa! So we joined them and effortlessly and easily picked up on the delightful conversation we had started yesterday!
Afterwards, we went back to the room in order to upload yesterday's blog ... but .... couldn't do so. The internet was far too slow to accomodate. I imagine everyone is on it during sea days. It was a great opportunity to sit on our deck and read Terry's book though. The sound of the waves was a perfect backdrop to the pulls on my heartstrings as I turned the pages. After the end of the first story, I had a generous supply of tears trickling down my cheeks. The old boy was ready for me ... he pulled a wad of tissues out of his pocket that he had placed there in anticipation of my reading. It occurred to me that I didn't need that many tissues. But ... I was wrong. By the time I had read all three stories, I had used them all!
It is such a touching book ... filled with reminders of what is really important in life. The stories sparked all kinds of conversation for the old boy and myself after reading it. If you are at all interested, the book is available on Amazon!
We headed out for some lunch and then enjoyed sitting near the Infintity pool ... even though it was almost too hot!! I am surprised at how warm it is on the decks of the ship! When we cruised the Carribean sea about 23 years ago, it was almost too cold to sit by the pool. Here ... it is so darn toasty you want to be by the pool! I had thought our balcony would be perfect for 'at sea' days because it would be south facing and fairly wind protected! Turns out ... it is almost too hot by mid-afternoon to sit out there. Maybe this will change as we get closer to Florida?? At any rate ... it is truly a gift to feel the heat of the sun on February 19th!!
It was so beautiful outdoors that we decided to take a few laps around the walking deck! We made it around 8 times ... which equals 2 miles! It felt good to log in some walking with all the eating and indulging we have been doing!
We had decided at breakfast to meet Terry and Theresa for dinner at 7:00pm. We enjoyed a great meal of Lobster Thermador (much better than the one the old boy ordered in Panama City) ... and then ... chatted way past our bedtime. It was almost 11:30pm before we got back to the room and into bed! All in all, another really nice day. And, tomorrow is our last full day on the ship. Whoa. Time flies ...... .Läs mer
