Whatever Will We Do Today?

I had such a great sleep and was feeling so well rested that I was, for the first time since we arrived, up in time to greet the sunrise from our rooftop terrace. It looks like today will be sunny and hot (27°C) but it's going to be cooler and cloudier for the rest of our time here.

We woke up with no firm plan for the day ... should we make it a beach day and play in the ocean? Or should we get a day pass at a nearby resort and lay by the poolside? Or, should we book a sunset dinner cruise and sail out to see the 'arches'? Or should we go snorkeling? Or maybe get a massage?? Or maybe go whale watching since its whale season here? Or maybe a camel ride ... no ... not that. How about swimming with the dolphins? We could play a round of golf? We have yet to visit any of the stores in the shopping mall! Decisions, decisions, decisions, decisions ??? 😂

Perhaps one of the best things about this trip is the lack of scheduling. We are not on a time clock and each day we get to decide what we feel like doing!

We enjoyed a nice breakfast on our patio and then decided to get tickets for the Sunset Supper Cruise. Unfortunately, Dario was not working until 3pm so Lily organized our trip. It was only her third day in Cabo so it was a bit shaky in terms of inspiring our confidence. We used up every last bit of our US cash to secure our reservation.

We also decided to walk down to "Breathless" (a seaside resort) and see about getting "day passes" to enjoy the resort amenities. It was another fabulous recommendation from Sis! It was such a stunningly beautiful property. They even recorded our ID before letting us go up to the front desk for information. Eduardo took us for a tour to see what we could expect. All food, drinks and access to the pool, private beach on the ocean and seversl restaurants from 9:00am to 6:00pm for $185USD per person. It sounds steep but if you think that we're paying $95 USD per person for the 3 hour sunset dinner cruise .. it's really not so bad. We even bartered them down for that from $135 USD per person. On Trip Advisor it was $185 CAD.

We talked about it and we are thinking we might get up and go early tomorrow. It's an indulgence that will empty our wallets but we decided we would love to take the memories home in our hearts.

We took a peek online to see what it would cost to take a room for the night at Breathless! Wait for it ... a room with two double beds is $745CAD or you can get a king-size suite is $1200 CAD/night! And, more shockingly ... it looks like many of the options are 'SOLD OUT'. Sheesh!! Makes the day rate look even more inviting!

As we were walking back from Breathless through the marina one of the pub owners yelled out to us "Ladies drink for free today, Mens pay for it!" 😂 We just love all the good lines we get to hear as the locals vie for our pesos. Its amazing how many things are "just about free!" The Mexican people have such great senses of humor!!

We headed home for a few minutes before we took a wee little 2 minute walk to Gardenias for lunch. Our grandson is still raving about this taco restaurant. And ... NOW ... we know why!! It was PHENOMENAL! The old boy can't quit talking about how good it was! I had the battered fish taco and the stewed chicken! He had the grilled octopus, a stewed cactus and his favorite ... the battered shrimp. All the toppings and sauces made it extra delicious!

And it was so very reasonably priced! Fernando took such good care of us! I'm sad to concede that the table service we have received here puts our Canadian wait staff to shame.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Sunset Dinner cruise! The food was excellent and we got some great pictures of the infamous 'arch' as well as the setting sun. They slso had a live three piece band playing Eagles, Santana and the like. We had a couple of dances too!

We met an exceptionally nice couple ... Pat and Ann from Minnesota! We would have posted this earlier but enjoyed more conversation with them over a glass of wine after our cruise was complete. Once again, there are so many lovely people in the world!

We are way past our bedtime now but looking forward to another wonderful day here in Cabo tomorrow! ❤️ Czytaj więcej
