A Bit of a Rough Night ... 🥴
21 stycznia 2024, Meksyk ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C
Well, I seem to being alternating good and not so good sleeps. We weren't in bed until after 10:00pm last night but then by midnight I was awake. Something from dinner did NOT agree with me. I was chewing Pepto Bismal and hoping the nausea, cramps and belly bloating would soon pass. I was finally able to get back to sleep sometime after 3:00am.
I felt a fair bit better this morning but we decided to postpone getting the Day Pass at Breathless for another day. The forecast was for clouds and wind today ... and ... it actually turned out to be the coolest day we've experienced since our arrival. Don't get me wrong ... a chilly day here is still better than a warm winter day in Alberta right now! So, I'm not complaining ... its just not warm enough for me to consider getting wet on purpose!
It's such a mystery that I've been sick on our last two trips because I am always so hypervigilant and ridiculously careful when travelling. The old boy never avoids anything nor does he take any extra care or attention to hygienics. And nothing seems to get his belly rolling. I very much envy that!
We opted, instead, to take a look at the gym ... we totally forgot to show you that this complex also has a gym at the top of the turret!! And after that we ambled towards the old Town. The old boy bought himself a new visor... it says Cabo San Lucas. Maybe he'll retire the Panama one he's been wearing for the last five days? Or, maybe he won't?
We picked up another item and it was hilarious as the deal was negotiated for our additional purchase. It was marked at $900 pesos. She said we could have it for $600 because we already bought the visor. The old boy tried to get it for $550 to which she responded "$700 for Mr. Wallet". She confirmed it would be $600 for the lady but $700 for Mr Wallet. She was having none of his continued bartering. Honestly, we have enjoyed so many great chuckles with the locals!
Then, we had to stop at "Slims" ... which is touted as the smallest bar in the world! It has only 4 seats and people have been signing USD currency and taping it to the bar for 32 years!! There must be an absolute fortune in cash with packing tape securing it all over the place!
The bartender affirmed that they have sqeezed 32 people into the space. I am questioning how, on earth, that would be possible ... but ... this little bar is a must see because it is filled with so much character. Country music playing loudly over the TV which is also on!
Pat and Ann, the lovely couple we met yesterday on the Sunset Cruise highly recommended going swimming with the dolphins! The price tag was so high though for 30 minutes ... $169USD if you want to swim underwater ... $129USD to swim without submerging ... just holding their fins. We talked one vendor down to $99USD per person, but decided to swing by the Dolphin arena to check things out before we committed!
We were able to simply observe ... for free! It was so captivating! 😍 Dolphins are such gentle and mesmerizing animals!! And, after all was said and done, we've decided we don't need to submerge ourselves after all! Our 60 minutes observing was so satisfying and gratifying in and of itself that we need not get wet to enjoy it more.
We also crossed another suggestion off our list. We headed over to MCO ( also known as Rip's Bar and Grill). We ordered the 'rainbow shots' that came highly recommended by family! It was a scientific wonder to see how they all came out of one container but ended up as 9 different colored shots! 🤔
There was no way we were going to try and drink all of them ... so we offered to share them with a few other tourists at the bar! It turns out they were mostly juices, but ... we made some new acquaintances and heard some really interesting stories as a result of the sharing. Once again, meeting people is one of the extra joys of travelling. And, the old boy is so good at making conversation!
After all that, we were tuckered out so we stopped at the condo to drop off our purchases and have a little refreshment before we were on our way to Gardenias again for more tacos! Once again, our central location makes it so easy!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tacos at Gardenias ... but ... the sariano peppers were so much hotter than yesterday! My mouth was literally on fire and I had tears running down my face! Fernando explained that the skinnier the pepper ... the spicier they are! I had no idea. I had not considered the girth of the pepper when I added it to my taco!! 😯 There is sure lots to learn ....
So ... the old boy is in the hot tub sipping a night cap and I am now off to bed! It was sure a lovely day ... despite the wind and cloud cover. Here's hoping for a better sleep tonight! 🤞😴 Czytaj więcej

So, do the different colors taste different? A magical concoction!!!
Lansers on the Loose ...Yes! Its amazing!! The redder colors are sweeter. The blue/green ones have more alcohol! There is something for every palate when you order the rainbow! 😋
PodróżnikAfter your bad tummy at night you certainly made a full recovery!!! Shots and hot peppers? You are impressive! ♥️😊
Lansers on the Loose ...I was so darn grateful for the quick recovery. I'm guessing it might have been my Avocado intolerance. I'm careful not to order anything with Avocado but if they use Avocado oil in the preparation ... I might be in trouble. I had shrimp and grilled veggies on the Sunset cruise so I am wondering now if that was tge problem. It's tricky because this time was more nausea and cramps but in Panama it was the full Montezuma's revenge! 😳
