    Split Rock Lighthouse

    October 5, 2021 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 61 °F

Our next stop heading north on the scenic drive was the Split Rock Lighthouse. I had seen info about it online and Linley had mentioned this one in particular when she visited several years back.

Really enjoyed this lighthouse and museum. This is one of those " most photographed" lighthouses in the state. Built in this great rock cliff and very well maintained. All the light keeper houses, oil building, fog horn building and the lighthouse. Spent probably an hour and a half or two here watching video, touring buildings and then a quick hike down to the rocky shore to get the view from below.

Did our turn around at this location because we have some pets back in the RV. And lo and behold, at 4 pm we had a burst of sunshine, brilliant blue sky and then just as quickly, it was replaced by another bank of clouds. Did get in one more scenic stop (in the sunshine!) and found some rock climbers being instructed on a rock face.

Finished the drive under an overcast sky and back to the RV at the marina. Looking across the Canal as I write this; the fog had settled in, more than last night... thinking maybe Aquarium in the am and hoping for sunshine in the afternoon so we can do a bike ride on the lake walk. Fingers 🤞!
