• 9.12. Toller Tag in Pushkar

    December 10, 2024 in India ⋅ 🌙 11 °C

"Good! 👍Yesterday I had a wonderful day: 12 hours out of the hostel! First Yoga and Meditation at that Ashram, where the young owner (32 years) of the Moustache lives.
Than temples and Rooftop- breakfast at the Lake view Cafe in the Village. After this I was searching for a place to rent a bicycle. But google maps leads me totally wrong - so I walked in vain 3 km in the sun out of the village and back... 🥴👎
All the people that I asked, were convinced, that there is NO possibility to rent one in Pushkar. Only Motorbyces and Scooter...
BUT: I found one! Opposite of the SikhTemple, which I visited as well. I cycled to a homestay - Cafe in a nice garden nearby and had a good carot- Cake 👍, accompanied by a bad Coffee and nice talks with the young female owner, her sister and some tourists.
Before sunrise I cycled direction Gayatri- Tempel at the top of the first hill. I locked the byke and walked upwards. Arrived there I met a younger woman from Belgium sitting on the floor outside the temple and a Yogi - only a little younger than me. I asked him about the god here and the Gajatri- Mantra. So we chanted it together: three of us - finally for more than 20 minutes- just sitting in the sunset and chanting. After that the priest made a big puja in the Gajatri- Temple, where we chanted again. About 19.30 h I arrived at a Restaurant / Bar in the market, that was personally and highly recommended: Dream Tibetian Kitchen. But this guy (I think he is not gay 😜) is from Pushkar and the place is very chilly. Wonderful food - kitchen from a lot of countries, beer;(!) and smoking indoor allowed at the tables. A lot of interesting people (Indian and younger Tourists) who come EVERY evening here... 👍
You would definitely like it. After my dinner I cycled " home" to the Hostel - now a little tir😵ed..."
