I'm now at the end of my Tokyo trip. I've had such an amazing time. My friends have been so good to me and welcoming. I really am very lucky.

    MORE food!!

    July 21, 2016 in Japan ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

I think the whole theme for my last day was food food and food. Everywhere we went we ate. It was getting close to 7pm so Aiko suggested we go for a Chinese. It's a good job I'm a greedy cow and able to eat lots. On the menu was ebi soba, gyoza and roast pork. Oishi!

It was then time for us to say our goodbyes. Aww it was so sad leaving the both of them. Maybe I can join them when they take a trip to London next year. We all had so much fun.Read more

    Coffee and Rude Waitresses

    July 21, 2016 in Japan ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

Because I didn't really have a plan for the day, and because I was having such a great time with Agasei and Aiko, I stayed on with them. They asked if there was anything I would like to do but in all honesty I was just happy having a good chat and spending time with them. We ended up in a Hawaian coffee shop at Prince Hotel. We ordered a mix sandwich set (yes more food) and drinks. We were there for a while, laughing and talking but the waitresses seemed quite rude to me. They kept coming over looking at our bill and I noticed a few waitresses kept looking over at us. It really started to annoy Aiko. Maybe they thought we were riff raff. The place did seem kind of posh but still, we're paying customers!Read more

    Giant Pudding

    July 21, 2016 in Japan ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

After our wagyu, we went to a coffee shop where Aiko is a regular. Aiko had a steady stream of familiar faces greeting her. She was like a celebrity waving hello to everyone. The three of us ordered a shaved ice dessert. Agasei had mango, Aiko and I had macha flavour. I was expecting a tiny bowl like you get in the Chinese buffet but it was HUGE!

After dessert we walked around some shops and took some silly pics. It was great fun 😁

    Special Lunch

    July 21, 2016 in Japan ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

For my last day in Tokyo I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do. Agasei messaged me early in the morning and asked if I would be up for lunch with herself and Aiko at Shinagawa so I agreed. The place we went to was one of Aiko's favourite steak houses where wagyu beef is served. She chose her usual chef and he prepared it in front of us. It was great. You know why wagyu is expensive when you taste it. It just melts in the mouth. It was such a nice treat from Aiko.Read more

Back to Tokyo for a Night View

    July 20, 2016 in Japan ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

I got off Shinkansen at Shinagawa station with the intention of going straight to the hotel because I was tired but then remembered I hadn't really seen the city view at night. The Tokyo Government Building free observation deck was still open so I took the train to Shinjuku and got some amazing views. One of Skytree in the distance.Read more

    Another Tower

    July 20, 2016 in Japan ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

From Yasaka Shrine I got the bus back to Kyoto Station. It was so hot and sweaty anyway and with the bus being so full it just made it worse. I shouldn't moan really. People who live here have to do it every day. On reaching the station I saw Kyoto Tower. The Japanese do love a good tower it seems. I didn't get to see thins on my way in because I went straight to a connecting train.Read more

    Yasaka Shrine

    July 20, 2016 in Japan ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

I wasn't sure what to expect upon reaching the shrine. You see so many shrines dotted about but This one looked amazing with the bright red. The pictures I have do it no justice. And that wasn't even the whole of the grounds.Part of me wishes I had more time to explore more of the many shrines around Kyoto but I had to get back to the station for the Shinkansen back to Tokyo.Read more

    Gion

    July 20, 2016 in Japan ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

Luckily for me, the subway station was right next to Nijo Castle so I went a few stops east towards Gion. I had a little walk around the neighbourhood but ai was boiling and starting to get tired so I stopped off and had a quick snack and rest then made my way to Yasaka Shrine.

    Nijo Castle

    July 20, 2016 in Japan ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

I got the bus from Kinkaku-ji to Nijo Castle. It was the first time I had used a bus on this trip. I did use one on my last trip but this one was easier to navigate as it told you which stops (in Japanese) rather than a general area like the bus I used last time. It was just a case of remembering the kanji for my stop.
I got off the bus right outside, which was great then walked right in. It seems everywhere has amazing gardens. Put that in Liverpool and it will probably get wrecked by scallys😠
Again, I was feeling the burn so I saw as much as I could then left for my next destination.
