Vienna to Melk

Today was the best day of riding so far this week, and being one of the shortest distance days had nothing to do with it. The day started like all the rest, cool and threatening rain. What made today so interesting was that we rode through several small villages and the Wachau region vineyards. Along the way we stopped at several tasting rooms to sample the wines of the region. We got in a bit of trouble when we stopped for an espresso at a small roadside cafe. They had grapes by the order window so we each tried several, absolutely delicious, and not free samples. We left a couple euros and all was forgiven. Lunch at a road side cafe was also outstanding, I'm not sure I can eat schnitzel in the US again, it is not the same at all. I also had two radlers ( same as a shandy, depends on where you order it ) so was sleepy after those a a large lunchWeiterlesen
