Atashika beach

On the way to the station the manager noted what a beautiful beach Atashika has, and when I asked if it was possible to swim at Kumano City, which is our destination today, he said no, while there's a coastline it's dangerous. Accordingly I was dead keen to start the day with a swim and it was unbelievably enjoyable. The water was warm, the fish were flying, the sun dried me off without crisping me up, and it was sand rather than rocks. I can't even find the words, it was heaven.
