I had wanted to stay in this albergue ever since I saw Lexie post it on her findpenguins from 2024. I was the first one in the door and wasted no time strategically selecting the Best Bed. Every other albergue has assigned beds so far and frankly, I hate that. First in best dressed says I. Given the opportunity to CHOOSE, I quickly found the only bed that satisfied all the following criteria:

    Bottom bunk
    Curtained
    In a corner
Extra space (rare limited edition shelf)
Had a USB C wall port

Feeling very pleased with myself, I threw myself through the shower and stood outside in the sunshine to do some demure hand washing in the stone basin. After this, I tottered 100m down the road for some essentials (Oreos) and came back for a cuppa and a bikkie. In this pursuit, I befriended a lovely Korean gentleman who offered to make me coffee, as he told me he is now retired but used to be an exhibition designer for the national gallery of Korea! He had funky artsy spectacles, so I believed this completely.

Snacks acquired, I plopped down to peruse the only english book in the place - a very aptly titled book of poetry. It was alright. The coffee was better ❤️
