Long Day But Funally Dry...Mostly

Left at 0430 on wet roads. Hit sprinkling rain almost immediately, but stayed in damp fog for the whole morning, which is pretty much like sprinkles 😞.

Didn't see the sun until 50 miles before Virginia, which is when I got to really dry out. All that remains damp are the insides of my boots. 👍

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see my friends. I wouldn't have arrived until after 2200. Next time. Instead, I took advantage of the darkness to pick up several photos in D.C., including 3 of the 4 Tour of Honor, a couple of AULDRs, and 1 of HOG's 15 Rides for 2026 at the Iwo Jima Memorial. Almost no traffic. I ran most of the lights after stopping (sort of). Did it right in front of several cops, too. Didn't care, them or me. 👍

Of note, I rode the George Washington Memorial Parkway, which I've been on before, but never at night. Wow!! What a gorgeous view of the Washington Monument, Lincoln Monument, Capitol building, etc!!! All lit up right across the water! Really stirring. I highly recommend!!

Okay. I kept my rule to not ride between 0200 and 0400. I got here at 0130 👍. I'm at a large, empty looking set of brick warehouses, tucked up against one wall. I rode by a cop when I turned in. I can see his rail lights from where I parked, but he hasn't moved. Wonder if he was asleep 🤣. I won't be here long, so I hope he doesn't disturb me 🤞.
