I Forgot How Much I Like Maine 🤗♥️👍

I was up at 0400 and rolling at 0430...in 33 degrees 🥶! Because I offloaded my cold weather boots--"because I don't need them anymore," she said knowingly--Inused my rain overboots as windbreakers, which worked great. Heated gloves and jacket were worn and turned on 😁.

The whole day was simply great riding. Even at 0430 the sky was light and I rode the entire day in beautiful, cool sunny skies. I forgot how gorgeous Maine is. Every road is like a byway, or actually IS a byway, and the people are so friendly. They drive slow, particularly going through turns, but I suspect that's a holdover from driving on snow and ice so much of the year. Or because there are so many cops 🤣.

The big stops were the Capitol Building for alphabetical order, West Quoddy Lighthouse for the Iron But Lap of the 48, a few HDs (I found another shut down one, Big Moose 😟), and the Four Corners Park for the Ride to Eat. Yay!!!

I hope you enjoyed my moose joke yesterday 😜. I saw another moose this evening. It was big and standing in the middle of my lane 😳. Plenty of time to slow down for me, but still surprising, especially because he was standing by the moose warning sign 🤣. I saw a second one a bit later, but just the rump diving off the verge. So, I stopped at my next photo location. 2 servings of moose is enough 😉.

I had four really cool conversations today.

First, the sexy guy on a blue & black Street Glide who pulled up by me at North Country HD who was grabbing check ins for the last day of HOG's monthly riding challenge.

Second, the fireman in Auburn who also rides and will be traveling to Sturgis with his son to celebrate his retirement. Congratulations!!

Third, Kathryn, her cool young dude, and her adorable border collie. Also a rider, she offered me a place to rest at her home. How very kind. Unfortunately, I really had to keep rolling. Keep riding!!!

And fourth, the very kind man at the Shell station in Ashland who gave me a slice of his wife's homemade banana bread. I can't wait for breakfast 🤤. I hope this doesn't get you in trouble.

If you haven't been to Maine yet, you're really missing out. But being warm clothes!
