• Made It To Detroit 💪

    June 5 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 84 °F

Not a whole lot of people are happy to say they made it to detroit, but I am!

I had a really good sleep under the overhang at the back of New Castle Harley-Davidson last night. I could have stayed for several more hours, but I was up at 0400 and rolling at 0430.

When I got to my first photo stop at the next dealership, a guy in a pick up pulled up by me. My initial reaction when that happens is basically on high alert. But he was super cool, rides himself, and just had a bunch of questions about my Denali auxiliary lights. Of course we talked about much more than that. I'm so sorry I can't remember his name, but it was so nice chatting with him. I hope he sees this.

I continued on through Pennsylvania into Ohio just collecting photos as I do. I managed to get 11 dealerships today. Ohio is the top three or four in the number of dealerships. Maybe four. Texas, California, Ohio, New York. If you ever do the HOG dealership challenge and you're short on time but you want to get over a hundred, just do those four states and you should have about 120 under your belt. But don't do it this year because I'm already at 340 or something like that and want to win 🤣.

My other really cool conversation today was with Bob (#1281?) at Stinger HD, who is doing the Hoka Hey this year for the first time. He picked my brain for nuggets, and I was happy to dish them out.

One of my dealership stops was Mad River in Sandusky OH where apparently bike week is happening 🤦. So many bikers, so few clothes. 🤣🤣🤣 But if you're ever out that way, be sure to visit Put-In-Bay and take the ferry out to the island for the day.

Now, I've just received my Doordash of adult beverages and food. I have taken my first shower of the evening. And I am trying to get my Garmin to download my tracks for the past 5,000 miles. It's been acting very strange, skipping stops as if I went there yet I was blocks or even miles away from the stop. I just have to put up with it and keep an eye on it so I don't miss a stop.

I have my 100, 000-mile service in the morning (I'm at a hotel tonight). Fortunately. There is a urgent care about half a mile away from the dealership where I plan to have someone take a look at my eye and see if they can get the foreign body out of it. I know, I should have gotten it looked at way earlier, but I was worried I wouldn't make it here for my service. Now I have made it, so now I will have it looked at. It'll be fine.

Hope to see you on the road! Remember, NO WHINING! ✌️
