5 Wins, Maybe 6...
July 19 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F
Oh, what a great day! Beautiful weather, considerate drivers, practically no semis, and twisty roads that leave you feeling drained but accomplished.
I was really tired when I laid down last night, so I was out very quickly. Unfortunately, the weather didn't let me stay that way. No rain, but the wind tried to turn my sleeping bag into a sail. Motorcycling is expensive enough; I can't afford boating, too 🤣.
After trying to roll myself up and tuck in all the flappy bits [not mine, the sleeping bag's], I finally had to get up and move so that one of the picnic tables could block the gusts. That worked great, and I slept very hard until 0500, when I woke up, packed up, and rolled out.
Because Love's was right across the street, I got to start my day with hot coffee and hot food! Win #1! 🥇
After a few stops, I got to ride the Triple Nickel (OH-155), Ohio's 50 Rides ride. Man, what a blast! It is so freaky when the road turns right at the crest of the hill. Even when you see the turn coming on your gps, it is still freaky. But when you time it right, it's freaky awesome! Win #2! 🥇
I spent the rest of the day squiggling through Southeast Ohio and North West Virginia, and I'm now in Western Pennsylvania.
Like I mentioned at the beginning, today was just terrific. Weather was perfect, traffic was great, nobody tried to kill me, and everybody was just nice. Oh. Yeah. Except her.
As usual, I pulled up to the gas pump, filled the bike, and had to go inside to get a receipt. Again, as usual, I took my water bottles to refill them and headed directly to the restroom. Yes, as usual, the women's bathroom was multi-use with two stalls with massive cracks in them so you have to keep your undies over your knees to block your bits and hope the toilet is the right shape so that you don't splash on them (We're a first world nation and can't pee in private? WTF? Don't get me started.)
Just as I had unzipped my riding suit and was about to enter a stall, the store clerk banged on the door and yelled something. I still had on my earplugs and helmet so I couldn't tell what. But hearing the commotion, I turned around to the door as she pushed it open. Not usual. She was yelling at me that this was the women's bathroom. So, I manhandled my massive mammaries directly at her, to which she sheepishly said, "Sorry," and skedaddled. 🤣 Win #3 🥇
[For any of my trans friends out there, if you're accosted like this, and I know you are, let your girls talk for themselves!!!🍈🍈]
She didn't have anything else to say to me when I asked for the receipt. I accept that and take it as Win #4 🤣! 🥇
I'm also taking Win #5 🥇 in that I've gone 5 nights in a row camping, including the soaking I got the other night 😞. To celebrate, I got a hotel room. Not to get too personal, but I just spent 30 minutes in the shower getting clean and nursing the severe heat rash I discovered in both armpit areas and around those massive mammaries 😉. I have a small stick of zinc oxide made for baby butts that will do the trick so no worries. Getting to take off the sports bra and sleeping in air conditioning is going to help a bunch, too. Win #6? I'll know I the morning 🤣.
I've made great time, and I'm really excited to see my friends in the Columbus and Cincinnati areas in a couple of days. As bad as some of the memories are, I'm really happy to be almost back in the Cincinnati area. Maybe I'll go take a look at my house 🤔.
Hope to see you on the road! Remember, NO WHINING! ✌️
