Tour of Valor Rally Day 1

I have had the best few days curled up in a comfy bed and bingeing on Netflix in the air conditioning 😊. Aaahhhh. I feel so much better now.

Yesterday, I finally forced myself to leave the hotel room and walk about a mile to get a much needed, well deserved, and far overdue pedicure. On the way back, I popped into Pensacola HD to check in for the Tour of Valor HOG Touring Rally.

This rally is very special. It's the third year they've done it, and the purpose is to take us to military museums and memorials. They've planned at least one location every day. It doesn't draw nearly the attendance that the other touring rallys draw, which baffles me. To each their own, I suppose.

Anyway, we had a lovely dinner, door prizes, and fellowship that evening.

With only about 4 hours to get to New Orleans today, I decided not to leave the hotel until 1030, then stopped at Whataburger (shocking) for a late breakfast. Taquitos 🤤.

I rolled down I-10 without much issue and popped into Hurricane HD, where the tour organizers recommended we stop. Trey and Faye had the grill going for us, with burgers and pop galore. Sooo tasty and so very kind of them to welcome us even though we were just passing through. I brought out the Akichita to thank them and talk about the Hoka Hey.

Then I was off to my RV campground in Abita Springs where I reserved tonight and tomorrow. I caught a heavy shower on the way and rode the bike right up under the pavilion when I got there 🤣. Unfortunately, the place was a mud pool and their wifi was practically permanently down, so I opted to stay on the concrete at the New Orleans HD, where I am now, after an hour or so at McDonalds to charge my phones.

I even set up my real tent with poles AND staked one of the rain flaps down in case it rains again. I've been lugging it around since Memorial Day. Might as well use it at least once 🤣.
