The Sun Was Crying

Oops. When I caught up with my friend to share the hotel room last night, I thought I only had 600 miles to go today.

Unfortunately, I miscalculated. I actually had almost 800. Since I didn't roll until 0800 and didn't want to ride Atlanta after dark if possible, I cut out 4 of my RTE stops and didn't ride HOG's 50 Rides for Georgia (extra points for AULDR). I still had to ride part of US129, the eastern part of that ride, which really is a great road, but once I got there, I was really glad I didn't have to ride the rest of it.

The sun was crying. 🌦️

Despite brilliant sunshine, I rode about 10 miles of twisties in a torrential thunderstorm. Very slick road snakes (tar lines) made it very slow going, and I came to the realization that I'm over twisties...at least for this year. Two and a half days straight of them during the Hoka Hey broke me 🤣😔.

Knowing I have service at Atlanta HD in the morning, I prebooked a hotel room so I could sleep in and be sheltered from the sporadic storms expected tonight. And that's where I'm sitting right now. 👍
