• Vermont Is Sooooo Slow 🤦

    October 7 in the United States ☀️ 63 °F

Woke up shivering at 0100. By 0330 I couldn't take the cold any longer and got busy breaking camp. Turns out, it was 27°F🥶😔. I rolled out with all of my heated gear plugged in and on high. It mostly worked. My poor piggies though.

Before daylight, I got to a town for one of my picture stops, and I dove into a Dunkin Donuts to wait for daylight and higher temps.

I accidentally became a member of the breakfast club with 4 guys who knew every single person in the place. The conversations they had. I've never witnessed men gossiping like that. So funny!

It had warmed up to a balmy 32°F when I rolled about an hour later and never got over 50 😔. I didn't get to wear my new gloves for very long, only about an hour in the afternoon.

I spent the rest of the day trying to get through Vermont. I swear I've driven across Texas faster than how long it took me to go 300 miles in Vermont. 🤦

I stopped at Ben & Jerry's because another Hoka Hey friend had hidden a container in the Flavor Graveyard 🤣. I found it but haven't opened it yet 🤣.

My light at the end of the leaf peeper tunnel was spending the evening with my Hoka Hey brother Ron and his amazing wife Carrie. Ron and I met and rode together for many days during the 2022 Hoka Hey. Unfortunately, he had maintenance problems that kept him from finishing the second half of this year's Hoka Hey. So, this is the first time I've seen him since the starting line. Love these folks!!

Hope to see you on the road! Remember, NO WHINING! ✌️
