Lego Land Malaysia!!!!!

Finally the day is here! Arriving here was so exciting, the hotel looks like it's made of Lego and you can see it from a long way away. Lots of things in the hotel are made of Lego and there is so much to play with. All the different lifts are fun too, I like the disco one! Ruby likes the princess one. Our room has a pirate theme and I'm in the top bunk! There was a treasure hunt in our room, the quiz answers made a code to open the monkey treasure chest! We went in the pool on the roof and to the restaurant- there are lots of Lego statues. I think mum will need to buy a new suitcase to bring home all the great things!Read more
Ann Oldmeadow Lego land looks very interesting Sam and Ruby - I'm sure you will both have a great time there. I hope you can sleep well in those pirate beds! I am back in Uzes now and very happy that I am not in hospital any more. I didn't like sleeping in the hospital bed at all! I will keep looking at your blog Sam so that I know what you are doing -

Joan. How fantastic - Legoland at last! I can't wait to hear what your favourite rides and activities are once you get to the park. The hotel looks really fun. I can't believe all the things they make out of Lego. I hope there is lots of room on your camera sd card for your adventures within Legoland. If you get time don't forget to check out the shows. Is it nice and warm in Malaysia? Really looking forward to hearing about all the great rides and displays. Have a fantastic time.

BEST DAY EVER.

What a fun day!!! It was hot but I didn't mind. We went on so many rides and the rollercoasters were awesome! Some of the rides spray you with water, others spin you around or just go fast. Miniland has amazing Lego buildings just like the real cities and there is a great star wars exhibit. Have a look at the picture of Lego Kuala Lumpur buildings with our hotel in the background! The shop was also pretty awesome... I didn't want to ever leave Lego land. Then it rained so so heavily all of a sudden, we got drenched! But it still wasn't cold. At the hotel tonight I won the dinosaur building competition, I got a keyring as a prize.Read more

ANOTHER best day, then it was the worst!

Well I loved today again!! It was even hotter. First we went to Lego water park, cos we missed that yesterday in the monsoon. I went down a pretend river on a raft and in a wave pool and then on some big waterslides. Back in Lego land I got my Lego driver's licence!! Ruby got hers too on the little kids' track. We went on heaps more rides. There was one that dropped us from a height, and one you had to pull your chair up higher than the trees with a rope. We went on our favourite rollercoaster again too. Finally we went to the SHOP. Mum needs a new suitcase for sure! When it was time to leave and drive to Malaysia it felt like the WORST day because I just wanted to stay forever and ever. I was soooooooo sad and Ruby was too. But Dad and Mum said we would love Singapore too...Read more
Ann Oldmeadow Oh Sam - you look so sad! You never know - perhaps you will come back to Lego land again some time. I'm sure you will have fun in Singapore too. You really are very lucky you know! Joan. I am so sorry this visit is over but there are lots more Legolands in the world - maybe next holiday you can explore another one! Enjoy the warm weather and swimming in Singapore.

We are finally really here!!

It was a long wait at the Singapore checkpoint but we have forgotten all that now we are at Legoland. It's so much fun! We remembered lots and are rediscovering things too. We had lunch at the nearby mall and had great times building with giant Lego, then we did a family scavenger hunt where we solved clues and took photos of ourselves with the the number answers. Soon it was time for dinner and a cool ninja class. A late bedtime should mean we sleep well ...Read more

A fantastic birthday in Legoland!

Sam is 10! Mum and Dad can't believe it. What a place to wake up, on a birthday.

Legoland is great. So many things are made of Lego. The rides and displays are awesome. And for once we didn't get rained on! The first ride we chose was a Virtual Reality rollercoaster... You really go on the rollercoaster but wear a headset and it feels like you're in a race with other Lego vehicles and in different terrains. So exciting! And of course we won.

We went on lots of rollercoaster rides and other rides. It was awesome to do so many fun things all as a family. And we've already done some Lego shopping!

In the afternoon we had a couple of hours at the water park. We all went swimming in a river where you could try to make a raft out of foam Lego! And we went on some waterslides. Sam and Ruby went down a waterslide in a raft together without mum and Dad! Sam went on the high fast slides while mum and Ruby did more floating.

At dinner a Lego chef brought Sam a little birthday cake and all the staff sang. Pretty cool

Bye bye Legoland...

Bye for now Legoland Malaysia! No tears this time but we have had an awesome time. And we don't want to eat rice for a while. It was rainy but we hope you can see the big rollercoasters in the picture we took from an observation tower.

We got our Lego drivers licenses! And tested our skills building to withstand an earthquake. At the end of the day Sam tried a hoverboard and Ruby drove a cool car at the nearby mall.Read more

A wet start to day 2 at legoland

We woke to storms and rain but luckily by the time we finished breakfast, it started to fine up. We wanted to go on the Dino island ride 1st, as it was the last major ride we hadn't been on. We knew we might get a bit wet but we all got completely soaked! Mum and Sam even went a 2nd time. We went in a giant dryer but still took ages to dry. It was totally worth it though.Read more

So many Lego models to discover, so many rides. We pulled ourselves up on a high tower. We watched a "4D" movie with water and snow sprays at the right times. We went in a building competition and Sam came 3rd!! More to come...Read more

Day 13
The Journey to Malaysia

Final breakfast in the garage then we loaded up the bus to depart for the western bridge crossing of Tuas into Malaysia. Passing the south western industrial zones of Johor

Here we had to pass through both Singaporean and Malaysian Immigration and Customs which involved very long waits on the Singapore side

Once in Malaysia we changed dayglo buses and guides - saying goodbye to Susan and hello to Narin!

The border town of Johor Bahru is the home of Kota Iskander a new development zone which was our first visit in Malaysia. All the adminisitrative functions plus education including many British Universities,recreation and tourism (legoland and Hello Kitty Land) of the state of Johor are moving. We visited the Mosque completed in 2015 and drove around the site of the new city administrative area. Although the economic downturn and fuel price fluctuations has slowed development. We then drove a short distance to a new Marina development called Puteri Harbour - clearly aimed at ex-pat investors and rich Malaysians and the New industries.

We were then taken to a Mall in Johor Bahru for lunch of our choice in the food court.

Following this we drove 3 hours to Melaka - the smallest state in Malaysia. To stay in the old town area built by the Dutch.Read more
