San Cristobol de Las Casas Oct. 22nd-24

We stayed one night in Tonala as a mid point between San Cristobol De Lasa Casas and Salina Cruz. Once in San Cris we stayed at a hostel for two nights, which unfortunately had bed bugs. However, we did take an all day tour of Sumidero Canyon. The tour picked us up in the morning at the hostel. We went to two miradors that looked over the canyon. Then took a two hour boat tour of the canyon its self. It started at the hyrdoelectic damn side of the canyon. We motored underneath a few waterfalls coming out of the canyon walls. Saw monkeys and alligators as we go to where the river was still flowing. The boat trip ended in Chiapas de Corzo which had markets and old squares. I have been in San Cris before, its got alot of small streets with plenty of restuarants. Its also filled with artist, culture, many stores, hippies, musicians, and lots of beggers. Its also up in the mountains so it gets quite chilly. Not my favorite place but a must see.Read more
