(K)Oh, how beautiful is Samui!

Phine fuhr, ich hinten auf dem Scooter drauf. Ein tolles Duo! Genau so ging es wirklich einmal um die Insel rum: vom Hostel erst am Hafen im Westen frühstücken, dann zu einem Mangroven-Pfad im Süd-Westen, zum Meer, zu riesigen Felsen, die im Wasser waren im Süd-Osten; zum Strand für eine längere Pause und Schnorchel-Versuche im Osten; dann zum Abendessen auf einem Markt im Norden und wieder zurück zum Hostel. Mit jedem Kilometer wurden wir beide entspannter auf dem Roller und Phine sauste wunderbar durch die Gegend. Es war ein richtig schöner Tag so. Auf dem Markt im Fisherman’s Village hatten wir - da wir abends den Roller abgeben wollten - leider etwas wenig Zeit. Dafür haben wir aber das beste (vegetarische) rausgeholt: Pad Thai, Gyoza, Green Papaya Salad, Eis und noch einen Mango Sticky Rice. Es ging geschafft, aber glücklich ins Bett.
Am nächsten Morgen war dann leider schon die Abreise von der Insel. Früh ging es los zum Flughafen - der übrigens ein wirklich schöner draußen-Insel-Flughafen ist: Mit Sitzsäcken, Schaukeln und schönen Möglichkeiten sich die Zeit zu vertreiben, wenn man, so wie wahrscheinlich viele internationale Touristen, viel zu früh vor Ort ist. Pünktlich ging es dann los nach Chiang Mai.

Phine was driving, I was at the back of the scooter. A fantastic duo! This is how we circled around the island: We started out in the west, at our hostel and with a nice breakfast at the Na Thon harbour, then we went to a mangrove-forest in the south west and had a look at the ocean; next we made our way to grandmother and grandfather rock in the south (big rocks sitting in the sea) and walked around before having a break at Silver Beach in the east. It was time to give snorkelling another try (it was super cloudy) and enjoy this warm water. Then the sun was already setting and we were hungry (again) so we went to the Fisherman’s Night Market in the north for some dinner (Pad Thai, Gyoza, Green Papaya Salad, Ice-Cream and a Mango Sticky Rice) and headed back home to give our scooter back to the rental company. I really enjoyed this day a lot and I’m very happy we got to see a tiny bit more of this island. The next morning we had an early start to get to the airport flying out to Chiang Mai. One thing to mention: Samui Airport is really nice! Many outdoor-seating areas, swings, some ponds with fish - so it’s not too bad to be there early!Läs mer
