This morning we met fellow looper Tad (and Jane) from Cape Coral Florida. We’d been following them on Nebo but always fun to meet in person. We left our anchorage and headed over to Split Rock Mountain, a palisade on the NY shoreline. Moki and I did a quick hike up and back on one of the trails. It was steep, 300 feet in just over a quarter mile!. We then headed up Otter Creek to Vergennes…on the way collecting about a thousand horseflies. Fortunately they flew away we as we docked. Vergennes (population ~2300) was VTs first city and the name was suggested by Ethan Allen. It has a cool water falls that we are docked by. The dock is free with power and water. After exploring the area, James and I went out to the local pub for drinks and dinner. Very nice small but vibrant downtown. Only 16 miles today.Les mer
