Peterborough lock 20

We had a really nice slow but long cruise today. Rice Lake was like glass and the Otonabee River was super pretty but busy due to the weekend. We are now in Ashborough tied up on the top lock wall so we can take advantage of the breeze coming across Little Lake. There’s no power but it’s remote enough that we’ll be able to run our generator. From here we can look across lake to Peterborough proper. There’s a marina in town that we considered but I’m glad we opted against. This is a little more remote and we have a great view. There’s a couple museums here one parks Canada and the other a canoe museum. There’s also some nice Greenspace for the animals and the Trans Canada trail passes by the lock. Tonight is a free concert in Peterborough. It’s Elton Ron all Elton John. We can hear it really well. Total miles today 34.Read more
