Today was a long hot day. We went thru 7 locks including the Peterborough Lift Lock. This is the world’s tallest hydraulic lift lock towering 65’ above Peterborough. I thought I was taking excellent video as we were being transported but 🤷🏼♀️ apparently I was not. Sigh! Got pictures anyways. We were pretty tired by the time we tied up on the lock wall at Lakefield despite only going 8 miles…it was 🥵. The Lakefield lock wall has power and showers and it is jam packed tonight. The Trent Severn Waterway BTW is Canada’s busiest waterway. Construction of the waterway began in 1833 to move goods and people town to town and it wasn’t finished until 1920! Today it’s a National Historic Site. 42 lock stations total (45 locks) and we are at 26. It’s supposed to rain overnight and tomorrow with day temps dropping into the 70s all week and lows in the 50s. We are ready !!!Leia mais
