Havana

Long day today. We got hung up behind a multipart barge at the lock… all good because there was a restaurant with docks right around the corner from the lock so we stopped for lunch and shortly after we were able to get through. We’re in a stretch of the river where there’s not much around. We planned to drop anchor around 2:30 but the river is low and we couldn’t find anything deep enough without being on the river proper. Our plan B was a dock at the Havana Nature Center much further than we wanted to go but it was also too shallow so we went to the town boat ramp walked the dog.. took a break and then anchored behind Quiver Island… fortunately it has plenty of depth. There are several other loopers here anchored further back. We just nosed in for the quick getaway back to shore for the morning pup walk. Didn’t get to the dock until 5:30 and anchor till dark.
