    🌴 Achmelvich: The Caribbean Trickster 🌴

    Vanilla and I rolled into Achmelvich and almost did a double-take. White sand? Check. Water so blue it looked Photoshopped? Double check. Somewhere between the chip shop and the campsite I realised: this is the Scottish Caribbean, the myth made real.

    Standing on the headland, the bay shimmered like a postcard from Antigua. The only difference was the soundtrack—gulls, waves, and the occasional shout of a paddle-boarder rather than steel drums.

    I wandered down with fish and chips in hand, toes sinking into sand so soft it squeaked. The sea looked inviting—glowing turquoise, rippling gently—but the reality check came fast. One toe in and, wham, the North Atlantic reminded me exactly where I was. Caribbean looks, Arctic bite. Still, that contrast is what makes it so special.
