Veracruz - Angel Duarte and his GGGGG

Angel is Ary’s partner in crime. 34, married, no kids. Lover of languages, museums and history. While we were waiting in the car for Ary to come back from her bribery activities we had a interesting chat. I’d like to point out one story.
Angel likes to search for his roots. Like most Mexican he doesn’t really know where he comes from because the continuous mixing of races.
He was lucky enough to go back as far as to his great-great-great-great-grandfather (!).
HIs GGGGG (will call him this now) was a slave from a Portuguese invader and major landowner. His last name was Duarte. At the time the name of the owner of the slaves was given to their slaves. Because once the slaves were sold their name was annihilated.
So Angel today has the same last name as the owner of his GGGGG who was a slave.
