  • That was a long one!

    March 14, 2018 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

A long flight of course! All very straightforward at Bangkok airport... ages to get the all important sim...I have data hurrah...not that I'm ruled by my phone or nuffin.
    They advertise posh toilets here!
Nice dinner and drinks with my old friend Jules from Bristol... how weird a coincidence is that? We randomly met a Chinese guy from Hastings... he was very drunk and amusing....if not slightly irritating after a few hours....just deleted his Facebook friend request...he won't remember anyway!

  • East meets west!

    March 15, 2018 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 34 °C

    All mixed up!
Western food, non spicy Thai food for tourists, waking up at Thursday 2pm after 10 hours sleep, not sleeping at all tonight... it's 5am Friday and a trip starts in an hour....oh dear!

  • Floaters in the market

    March 16, 2018 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market... what a shit hole! Long morning trip to see hundreds of other tourists float around a smog filled overpriced market which has never seen a local person. people taking pictures of you with snakes and Slow Loris who have had their teeth ripped out so they don't bite you! ☹😠..... really never go there!

Had to have a lovely Korean lunch to recover 😀

  • Bang Saphan Train trip

    March 18, 2018 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

Lovely Japanese noodle soup to finish off the last day in Bangkok... non tourist spicy at last... the chilli ground pork ball blew my head off.... it helped me recover from seeing the Pfizer office.

I got to thinking about Buddhism... I've always been a bit drawn to some of their philosophy.. but they have disappointed me here... relatively high prices to see temples and donation requests at every footfall, priority seating on the metro, private lounge at the train station, areas not accessible to foreigners... seems a conflict to me.

Interesting train journey... 5 hours, weird food( green custard bun, 2 mains and rice) good views, supervised on and off by a conductor plus a 20 minute speech by the guard ( I wish I understood it.... what can he have talked about for that long!?)
