Erst Klettern ➡️ Hike & Fly an der Rigi

    April 4, 2021 in Switzerland ⋅ ☀️ 3 °C

    *** English version below ***

Today’s plan was busy: first crossing off some additional routes at Chämiloch crag, then hike & fly to Rigi (with a flight earned and not bought with a gondola ticket 🙀)

The climbing was nice and short: three routes and then back to the car. We visited the landing site and found it to be quite challenging; two pilots landing at the time we arrived were maneuvering about rather much with their field being uneven, built into a block of houses, a farm and trees... but; we will make it!

The hike to Rigi was estimated to be ~ 2.5 hours and 1.100 meters of altitude. We had a great time crossing the meadows of farms in the lower third, then climbing up a small path in the forest and lastly hiking along the ridge to Rigi top.

Upon arrival we watched tho pilots take off before we prepared our own launches. We called Gabi briefly to say hello, wish a happy Easter and thank her for the inspiration to try Rigi 😊

The flight was really nice and we enjoyed the wind that carried us up a bit. Landing took some concentration but we both managed super well 🙌🏻

From here, we had another ice cream in Schwyz and went back to the parking site we used yesterday already. The evening will now start with Kloss family Facetime, dinner and finishing yesterday’s 🍿 🎥 : “The Dig”.
