Sunset in monochrome

The interesting thing about getting out for a sunset here this time of year is they are so dang late! It's actually kind of tough to decide to leave 'home' by 8ish to get somewhere in time for a 9ish sunset! On this evening we sorta picked our location poorly. I wasn't sure where we'd wanna go and Jackie reminded me the 3rd of July at the most popular spot would be rather crowded... so we continued past and found a spot on the shadow side of Mount Hood. This is the White River area. When there's a big snow melt up on the mountain it floods this whole area! But tonight it was just a pleasant stream we could step over and investigate.

There wasn't enough color in the sky here to bother with but I thought these couple black and whites worked pretty well.Read more
