The first morning of my trip! I was only 3 minutes from the beach, and yet, so far....
The engine of the car just shut off while I was driving, so I coasted to the side of the road, where I ended up blocking part of the driveway of a local villa development. I ended up having to ask the kind landscapers, who didn't speak English, to explain to the tow truck driver, who also didn't speak English, where I'd broken down and how to find me. The landscapers also pushed my car out of the way of the driveway. The tow truck driver dropped me off at my rental, and then I waited for the taxi sent by the rental car company to drive me the hour back to the airport to get back in line at the rental agency to pick up a new car.
