    Jewish Heritage Tour of Budapest

    Today we had an extensive tour of the Jewish Quarter in Budpest with an excellent guide and driver. We visited three synagogues, Holocaust Memorial, Jewish Museum, kosher stores, the Shoe Memorial, the Glass House, and even had time to stop for a tradtional Jewish sweet at a local bakery. We also visited a funky weekend farmers market that each night becomes a trendy bar area. Needless to say the day was filled with history and emotion.Read more

    Our 24 Hour Journey

    Today we got up at 1:30 AM to finish packing before our 5:00 AM pick up to the Budapest airport. Unfortunately there was no one arround to help with our bags so we hooked everything together and got our 8 bags to the lobby. We arrived before the British Air personnal and no one could tell us where to line up. Finally Rose found someone from a local Hungarian airline who spoke English and pointed us in the right direction. The British Air 2.5 hour flight was seemless in Business Class with a full English breakfast.
    The big surprise was at Heathrow Airport where we had a 5 hour layover. Having had terrible experiences at this airport before we were dreading the experience. We were wrong! Between the Business Class fast track system and a new security system we breezed right through to the the Admirals Club.    Read more

    Our 24 Hour Journey Continued

    July 11, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

    We boarded our plane on time although we had major issues with the terrible seating on board: Our "pods" faced backwards and had a screen between us (that could not be lowered) so we had to peek over standing up just to talk. Luckily the food and wine were great and we managed to sleep for about 4-5 hours arriving just about on time in New York. We immediately went to the Global Entry kiosk and even as newbees completed the process quickly. Our driver was waiting and it was only an hour to our daughters house in Ct. We were exhausted but seeing our children and grandchildren gave us a second wind....for a while. This part of our journey was over. From here we go to Seattle to visit our other kids and then finally home.Read more

    Family Visit in Connecticut

    We are spending 2 weeks with Amy, Matt, Colette, and Callan. Besides relaxing by the pool we are enjoying many of their activities, fine restaurants and quality time with our new born and his 2 year old sister.Read more

    It's Nice To Be Home

    We visited France, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary before visiting our children in Connecticut, and Seattle.

    In 7 weeks we took 7 flights, visited 11 cities, and packed/unpacked 16 times. It was a great trip and exceeded our expectations.Read more
