Eigentlich wäre ein Wochenende in Avignon ja ganz toll, wenn man denn ankommen würde. Eigentlich fährt mindestens jede halbe Stunde ein Zug zwischen Montpellier und Avignon. Heute aber finden Gleisarbeiten statt, und sowas wie Ersatzbusse gibt es nicht. Aber das ist natürlich Problem der Passagiere und nicht des Bahn-Betreibers.
Trotzdem noch dort angekommen, zeigt sich der Papstpalast (zumindest von Aussen) doch sehr eindrücklich. Zu bemängeln ist allerdings ein Mangel an Authentizität. Ich habe nämlich niemanden auf der Brücke tanzen sehen.

Actually, a weekend in Avignon would be great if you could get there. There is actually a train between Montpellier and Avignon at least every half hour. Today, however, track work is taking place and there is no such thing as replacement buses. But that is of course a problem for the passengers and not the railway operator.
Nevertheless, once we arrive there, the Pope's palace is still very impressive (at least from the outside). However, there is a lack of authenticity to criticise. I didn't see anyone dancing on the bridge, not even one person.Read more
