Bukarest ist eine spannende architektonische Mischung: eine Altstadt, die mit ihrem überraschend westeuropäisch anmutenden Baustil auffällt, Bauten im Zuckerbäckerstil und eine Vielzahl kunstvoll gestalteter Kirchen. Letztere können wir aktuell meist nur von aussen bestaunen, da das orthodoxe Osterfest unmittelbar bevorsteht.
Auch wenn die Stadt an manchen Orten ihre Ecken und Kanten hat, lohnt sich ein Besuch definitiv. Bukarest bietet viel Geschichte, offene (und erstaunlich gut Englisch sprechende) Menschen sowie eine lebendige Restaurant- und Barszene.

Bucharest is an exciting architectural mix: an old town that stands out for its surprisingly Western-European-style architecture, buildings in a communist style, and a multitude of intricately designed churches. At the moment, we can mostly only admire the latter from the outside, as Orthodox Easter is just around the corner.
Even though the city has its rough edges in places, it is definitely worth a visit. Bucharest offers a wealth of history, friendly (and surprisingly fluent in English) people, and a lively restaurant and bar scene.Read more
