Day 1 Travel and set up

    May 27, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

Here we go again up the hill on the way to Delegate this time for another weekend of team sorting, hit the road around 10, Em had some school stuff to do and Jess was running late and even later after T gave her the run around the paddock and then in Paul’s nice grass around the house 😡😡, so no convoy it is just Sas, Teresa and Craig in the truck making our way to Cann river for lunch and get the boys out for a quick break, got back on the road around 12:30 and made our way up the hills to Bombala then out to Delegate, should of packed the golf clubs there was holes in the road everywhere, arrived around 2:30 and found the Showgrounds, did a quick drive out in the paddock and decide it was rather soft so headed back out near the road to set up camp, wasn’t long before Jess & Ben turned up, then the Ford gang rolled in, set up the horse paddocks and got the fire going wasn’t long before it cooled off, after a bit of local advice we booked into the cafe for dinner, it was a big and good feed, headed back to camp with light rain falling and then got a bit heavier so into bed around 8:30 ready for an early start in the morning 🥶Read more

    Day 2 Round 1

    May 28, 2022 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 10 °C

Woke up during the night to good rain and yep it was wet in the morning and there was a call on the PA around 7 to notify a delay as the decide what to do, got a start around 8:30 after they ripped the arena and then put a big mob of cows in to repack it down, came up good, it was a cool day and we all felt it.
A tough days for the teams the cattle were pretty ratty in the morning, Ben and Archie had a few runs in the Subbies and did a great job running the 5 cattle through.
The cattle got better as the day went on but no one managed to get the 10 thru in time, until Teresa and Locky went in with the ‘go hard or go home’ attitude later in the avo and ripped out 1 minute 2 second run, the best time of the day so far, wasn’t long before the day was done a great effort after a late start, time for a few bevies then off to presentation and no surprise Teresa and Locky walked away with 1st for the day and outstanding job, more drinks around the fire and then back to our camp for dinner and a lot more bevies into bed around midnight.

Day3 Round 2 and travel home

    May 29, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 9 °C

Had a great night around the fire but the cold came in and woke up to a chilly morning again, was another jam packed day of sorting, after yesterdays win the pressure was on but it was not to be for any of our teams, all had good runs with some sorting all 10 but just not quick enough, starter the pack up and had lunch then hit the road around 3 after the last run and no chance of a ribbon, had a good run and stopped in Cann river for a break and a drinks top up for the rowdy passengers, was super happy with the led light upgrade on the truck as we made our way through the hills much better than the candles from last week, dropped Sas off in town and got home around 8:30.
Another great weekend in the Monaro, a very well run event again and a good venue at Delegate, thanks to Bombala Team Sorting 👍👍
