    Day 1 Set up

    February 24, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Out of bed early to get all the farm jobs done to have the truck loaded and head off to Sale to meet the farrier to get Roy’s shoes done, got there at 9:30 and still didn’t get the spot we wanted so just inside the gate on the other side was the spot to get the best afternoon shade on the hot days coming, set up camp and just chilled out for the rest of the morning, after lunch Tup, Lacey, Kristy and Bron arrived, the avo warmed up to the mid 30’s so it was time to get out the pool and fill it, we started with the smaller one but wasn’t too long before Tup decided to take the wrap if we used too much water and we swapped to the big pool, thanks Tup.

So we all spent the afternoon in the pool having a few bevies, after a quick conversation with Steve H it didn’t too much to convince him to bring the camper down for a couple of nights, later in the evening Sas and Daniel arrived followed by Jake and then lastly Steve W around 9, the camp was complete and the night just continued on with drinks and tunes till around midnight and we all headed off to bed some a bit more pissy than others, still very warm 🥵🏝🥃🍺

    Day 2 Team Penning

    February 25, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 33 °C

Cooled down well overnight for the 5 ish hours of sleep that we got, everyone was well just a little tired from last night’s fun.
A busy day ahead and Tup’s birthday 🎂 to celebrate, the first run for our team was no 2 for the day and didn’t go well, Bron, Kristy, Lacey & Bron, Kristy,Teresa all penned 3 in good times in the morning runs, the day was heating so the tiny tots did a couple of runs and Archie and Ollie had a great time.
No break straight into the 2nd round and Teresa, Sas, Tup penned 3 and then Bron, Kristy, Teresa penned 3 again which turned out to be the only 6 for the two rounds a great job. It was all done by 2 and time to cool down in the pool with a few bevies, off to presentation at 4:30 and it was a great outcome, Bron, Kristy, Lacey got 6th place with 4 cattle and also picked up fastest time of 49 seconds, Daniel, Steve, Ash got the best presented team in their red shirts and the blue ribbon went to Bron, Kristy, Teresa with 6 cattle in 2 minutes 13 seconds, a great performance from all of our teams.
They saddled back up for the cash cut out, everyone went well, Teresa and Slippery had a little bronc show but all was well, no one was good enough to take home the cash pot.
Back to camp to celebrate Tup’s birthday, we had a fair crew in camp for a bbq tea and birthday cake that Lacey’s Nan made, the day finally busted up the rain came in and cooled down nice, we all jammed under the awnings and partied on till near midnight then into bed.
    Happy birthday Tup 🎂🎂

    Day3 Challenge

    February 26, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Had a bit of a sleep in, everyone was a little foggy after Tup’s birthday bash, had breakfast then off to the stockman’s challenge, there was an obstacle course and a single cow cut out and then group up 3 head of cattle and send them around in the campdraft arena, was a tuff day for most with each going well in a few of the obstacles and cut out but no winning teams today.
Was all done by 12:30 so grabbed some lunch at the canteen and we all sat around for presentation, with no winners today for us, so back to camp to pack up, said our goodbyes and hit the road only a short run home for us today, another great weekend with great people.
