    October 28, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

Left home around 9:30 and got out of the gate ways that we modified due to the wet and headed down the road on our way to Wulgulmerang, had a good run and not much traffic, got to the rec grounds at 12:30 and was met by Amy at the gate for a bit of direction on where to park with out getting bogged this time, stayed high next to the yards, still soft but solid underneath. Setup the horse yard and then had lunch, continued to set up camp was on and off showers with very strong wind, had souvlaki’s for dinner and then off to the big fire to catch up with the locals and others for a few bevies and a yak before hitting the sack around 10:30 still blowing a gale.Read more

    Competition Day

    October 29, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

It blew hard most of the night with some heavy down pours but woke up to the sun out with a bit of a breeze, Locky and Em and the kids arrived late last night and Sas and Cal arrived at 7:30 this morning, Teresa, Locky and Daniel had the first run of the day, so they got busy saddling up and I went and set up the PA system, got a 8:30 start and the cattle were a bit feral and they had a bit of a job ahead of them with no cattle penned and that trend followed for a bit till the cattle got in to the groove, Sas, Locky, Daniel got 1 cow in and Sas, Teresa, Mel did no good in their run. The afternoon runs were much better with Sas, Locky, Daniel & Teresa, Locky, Daniel getting all 3 in good time and Teresa, Sas, Mel penning 2 cattle.
All done by 4 o’clock, was time for bevies then and presentation, surprise for Locky, Sas, Daniel getting 6th place with 4 cattle penned for the day, roast dinner for tea in the shed then drinks around the big fire, into bed at 10:30 been a big day getting wind blown.

    October 30, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Had a great night around the fire last night, had a heavy shower of rain but woke up to a lovely sunny day with light winds, cooked up bacon and egg muffins for breakfast then started the pack up didn’t take to long with the help of the kids and we said our goodbyes, the ground was wet and I didn’t muck around getting out a little bit of wheel spin and flat to the boards and no probs, we hit the road at 10:30 and had a great drive home lots of traffic for cup weekend but still made good time and was home by 2 o’clock, other than the wind it was a great weekend as usual, thanks to the Wulgulmerang committee for another great event 👍Read more
