    Part of the same crater, everything is growing from the volcanic rock. The black sand beach is even made of ground-down volcanic rock. The impressive waves apparently cause the surf community here to grow from about 800 to 6000 every year. Our guide said the lifeguards even have their own reality show. It's not quite Baywatch, though. According to Wayne "there aren't as many flotation devices."
