After our exciting visit into the limestone caves we travelled a little further on to Predjama Castle. Built in the 1500s into a cave in a mountain.

Had a wonder stay in Ljubljana and heading to Lake Bohinj to the north in the mountains but first detoured south to Kope and quickly into Italy to Trieste. Great to see the blue water of the AdriaticWeiterlesen

Travelled north today for 3 nights in the Slovenian mountains. Just north of the beautiful Lake Bled, we (as in Al driving) had to negotiate a couple of very narrow corners. Fantastic driving Al! ItWeiterlesen

First activity today was more step- in fact 500 to the waterfall and then 500 back down again. .Savics Waterfall (Slap) in in the National Park
Cable Car & Chairlift

After the long hike to the waterfall and back we then took the cable car then the chair lift up to the top of the mountain. View across to the Julian Alp and Mt Triglav ( highest mountain in Slovenia)Weiterlesen

I think it would be great. There are Ski fields everywhere- where we were at the chair lift etc yesterday is a big ski field in the Julian Alps. It's really beautiful -I have a brochure for you!!

Doges Palace

Very interesting tour through the Doge's Palace & prison. This is the building next to San Maco's Basilica and was where the government and courts of Venice were. Also where the armoury was.
Murano & Burano

As you travel on the canals you can see where the original doors are now underwater at the bottom and rotting, some church tower's no longer straight but on an angle and balconies are sloping. TheyWeiterlesen

Yes, we are now in Verona, home of Romeo & Juliet (Giulietta). It's a wonderful town with so much to see. Unfortunately we had rain today so sightseeing was a little challenging.
