I. AFR/NA - 12. Tag, Windhoek

Heute hatten wir wieder eine lange Fahrt vor uns.

Von Etosha ging es nach Okahandja, wo wir einen typischen afrikanischen Handwerksmarkt besuchten.

Danach ging es weiter nach Windhoek, Namibias Hauptstadt und mit 300.000 Einwohnern größte Stadt.
Sie liegt in einer schönen Gebirgskette, ist das politische, wirtschaftliche und kukturelle Zentrum Namibias und auch als 'Platz der heißen Quellen benannt'. Auch hier merkt man wieder die deutsche Kolonialzeit, es gibt sehr viele deutsche Namen, Geschäfte, Produkte etc.
Wir haben uns das Zentrum inkl. der Kirche und der schönen bunten Gärten angeschaut und hatten abends ein gutes Abendessen.

Today we had another long driving day.

From Etosha we made our way to Okahandja where we visited a typical African craft market.

After that we continued to Windhoek, Namibia's capital and with 300,000 people biggest city. It is located within a nice mountain range, Namibias political, economical and cultural hub and also known as 'place of hot springs'. Again there are still many signs of the German colonial time which you can see on the many German names, shops, products etc.
We visited the centre incl. the church and the beautiful colourful gardens and enjoyed another nice dinner.Read more
