Staintondale to Filey

And then we were done 😲
We left the campsite this morning under a rain cloud that followed us along the route. Despite this we did see some dramatic views but it was too wet to do anything other than plough on. No stopping for coffee, water, admiring the views, chatting to people or cooling the feet - this meant we arrived in Scarborough in super quick time.
We are staying in the Grand Hotel tonight - once the tallest hotel in Europe. Steeped in history and eyed up by Hitler for his base. Anyway it’s only 11:00 and way too early to check in and to wet to do much so we decided to have an early lunch, drop our bags off in the luggage room and crack on to Filey (making it a 25 mile walking day 😱).
So that’s what we did, the rain eased off a bit but no photo stops until we got to the end. In Filey now, walked to the taxi rank beside the train station and got a taxi to Helmsley to get our car then drove back to Scarborough to enjoy the evening in the Grand 😀😀
