Akagera Nationalpark - Big five

Akagera National Park is located in eastern Rwanda along the border with Tanzania. Covering about 1,120 km², it features savannahs, lakes, and wetlands. Unlike Rwanda’s rainforest parks in the west, Akagera offers a classic African safari landscape with elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, and many antelope species. After heavy poaching and conflict in the 1990s, wildlife populations have been successfully restored. Today, the park stands as a model of conservation and eco-tourism in East Africa.En savoir plus
