• Roadtrip around Akagera Nationalpark

    On our road trip to Akagera, we traveled with our guide Eric, who seemed to know every hill and every story along the way. The road took us past shimmering rice fields, where farmers worked in the paddies, and into the heart of rural Rwanda. When we stopped in a small village, we were probably the first white visitors to pause there — and instead of just looking in, we were welcomed in. With Eric translating, we gained insights into community life: how families share work in the fields, how children walk long distances to school, and how local traditions still shape daily routines.

    It wasn’t just a trip to the park — it was a glimpse into the living culture behind the landscape.
