Eyd-e shoma mobarak 🍀🧄🐟

Im Iran beginnt das neue Jahr mit dem Frühling. Die Jahreswende findet in der Regel am 21. März statt, wenn die Tage genau so lang sind wie die Nächte.
Das iranische Neujahrsfest heißt auf Persisch No-ruz / نو روز, was so viel wie neuer Tag bedeutet.
Um sich auf Persisch ein gutes neues Jahr zu wünschen, sagt man: Eyd-e shoma mobarak/عید شما مبارک

Zwar wird Noruz offiziell nur an zwei Tagen gefeiert, aber die Schulen haben in der Regel zwei Wochen Ferien. Viele Erwachsene nehmen in dieser Zeit (1. Tag bis 12. Tag nach No ruz) Urlaub, um zu verreisen und Verwandte zu besuchen.

Haft Sin/ هفت سین

Eine typische Dekoration ist das Haft sin/ هفت سین. Dabei wird ein Tisch oder eine Kommode mit sieben (haft) Sachen dekoriert, deren Name mit dem Buchstaben sin (س) beginnt.
Typische Gegenstände sind:

Sabzeh:سبزه Ostergras: Häufig werden auch Sprossen verschiedener Getreidesorten verwendet. Es symbolisiert Munterkeit.

Samanouسمنو Malz aus Weizen: steht für Wohltat und Segen

Sir سیر Knoblauch: Schutz

Senjed سنجد Mehlbeere: steht für die Saat des Lebens

Serkeh سرکه Essig: Fröhlichkeit

Somagh سماق Gewürz: steht für den Geschmack des Lebens

Sib سیب Apfel: steht für Gesundheit

Weitere Gegenstände, die oft in der Dekoration zu finden sind:

Sonbol سنبل Hyazinthe: Freundschaft

Sekeh سکه Münze: Wohlstand

Aiineh آیینه Spiegel: Reinheit und Ehrlichkeit

Sham شمع Kerze: Feuer

Tokhm morgh rangi تخم مرغ رنگی bunte Eier: Fruchtbarkeit

ahi ghermez ماهی قرمز Goldfisch (im Wasser) Glücklichkeit.

Ketab کتاب Buch: Weisheit; Meist wird der Diwan von Hafez hingelegt. Aber auch Koran, Bibel oder Tora sind üblich.

Die Dekoration und die Auswahl der Gegenstände können von Familie zu Familie unterschiedlich sein.

Wir haben den Neujahrswunsch den ganzen Tag geübt und auch gelegentlich angebracht.

Nasrin haben wir seit unserer Ankunft hier leider noch nicht wieder gesehen - sie war unabkömmlich beim traditionellen Neujahrs-Hausputz eingespannt - damit ab morgen der überall zahlreich erwartete Neujahrsbesuch gebührend empfangen werden kann. Also auch wir 🤗.

In Iran, the new year begins with spring. The turn of the year usually occurs on March 21st, when the days are as long as the nights.
The Iranian New Year is called No-ruz in Persian / نو روز, which means something like new day.
To wish a happy new year in Persian, one says: Eyd-e shoma mobarak/عید شما مبارک
Although Noruz is officially celebrated on only two days, the schools usually have two weeks of vacation. Many adults take vacation time during this period (day 1 to day 12 after No ruz) to travel and visit relatives.

Haft Sin/ هفت سین

A typical decoration is the Haft sin/ هفت سین. A table or chest of drawers is decorated with seven (haft) things whose names begin with the letter sin (س).
Typical items are:

Sabzeh:سبزه Easter grass: Sprouts of different types of grain are also often used. It symbolizes cheerfulness.

Samanouسمنو Wheat malt: stands for good deeds and blessings

Sir سیر Garlic: Protection

Senjed سنجد whitebeam: stands for the seed of life

Serkeh سرکه Vinegar: Happiness

Somagh سماق spice: represents the taste of life

Sib سیب apple: stands for health

Other items often found in decoration:

Sonbol سنبل Hyacinth: Friendship

Sekeh سکه coin: prosperity

Aiineh آیینه mirror: purity and honesty

Sham شمع candle: fire

Tokhm morgh rangi تخم مرغ رنگی colored eggs: fertility

ahi ghermez ماهی قرمز goldfish (in the water) happiness.

Ketab کتاب book: wisdom; Usually the divan is laid down by Hafez. But Koran, Bible or Torah are also common.

The decoration and choice of items may vary from family to family.

We practiced the New Year's wish all day long and also made it occasionally.
