Nach dem späten Mittagschlaf auf zur öffentlichen Novrooz-Feier auf dem großen Naqsh e Jahan Platz! Tausende Menschen in guter Laune und mit Lust zum feiern und Musik hören hatten sich versammelt. Ganz viel Technik, eine schöne Bühne, zwei große Leinwände. Eine Video- Drohne .... es sah sehr vielversprechend aus. Schön vorbereitet für eine riesige Feier. Und dann...
Eine lange übertragene Fernsehansprache eines wichtigen Mullahs. Noch mehr wichtige Männer mit langweilen Reden. Es hat die Menschen, die Farsi verstehen, jedenfalls genauso wenig interessiert wie uns. Und ein Moderator auf der Bühne der ständig gequatscht hat. Dieses Zurna-Flöten- und Trommelstück vom Video war das EINZIGE Live-Musikstück, das es gab. Dann noch Musik vom Band, aber immer nur kurz angespielt und zugequatscht vom selbstverliebten Moderator. Der anscheinend auch gar nicht witzig war. Niemand hat sich gefreut oder gelacht. Es war nur peinlich und todlangweilig. Ein Sänger mit gelber Sonnenbrille war noch da, aber er hat nur die Lippen bewegt während sein Lied als schlechtes Playback lief. Die Menschen wollten so gerne etwas Spaß haben und feiern. Aber so ging das überhaupt nicht. Es hat uns ganz traurig gemacht. 😢
Warum bloss hat man nicht eine nette Band auf die Bühne gestellt. Es gibt so viel schöne Persische Musik. Klassisch, Pop, Volksmusik... die Leute hätten sich über alles gefreut! Deprimierende Neujahrsfeier. Auch eine Erfahrung!

After the late afternoon nap, off to the public Novrooz celebration in the large Naqsh e Jahan square! Thousands of people in a good mood and wanting to party and listen to music had gathered. Lots of technology, a beautiful stage, two large screens. A video drone....it looked very promising. Nicely prepared for a huge celebration. And then...
A long speech by an important mullah. More important men with boring speeches. In any case, the people who understand Farsi were just as uninterested in it as we were. And a moderator on the stage who was constantly chatting. That zurna flute and drums piece from the video was the ONLY live music piece available. Then music from the tape, but only briefly played and chatted up by the narcissistic moderator. Apparently he wasn't even funny. Nobody was happy or laughed. It was just embarrassing and dead boring. A singer with yellow sunglasses was still there, but he just moved his lips while his song played on bad backing track. People wanted so much to have fun and celebrate. But it didn't work that way at all. It made us very sad. 😢
Why didn't they put a nice band on stage. There is so much beautiful Persian music. Classical, pop, folk music... people would have been happy about anything! Depressing New Year Celebration. Also an experience!Read more
