Путешественник Congratulations on making the halfway point of your journey! Thats a LOT of walking! The pictures are really great & you two look great too! Way better than I would expect for the mileage (kilometerage?). Have been curious about rarely seeing people in your pictures. Do you just shoot them that way, or is the area really lightly populated? Reminds me a little of visiting various villages in the Philippines & rarely seeing people during the afternoon-but later the plazas & stores were packed come evening time. Anyway, love reading & following your journey from my easy chair!

From Leon we chose to backtrack to Carrion de los Condes in order to stay at the Albergue Santa Maria which is known for its singing nuns.

Путешественник I had a whole octopus when Mom was I were in Portugal, much smaller. Grilled was more flavorful and came from a much larger octopus.

On the Camino we frequently see yellow arrows marking the way. Sometimes fellow pilgrims take the time to build stones or sticks into arrows, too.

That’s a stork’s nest - you cannot believe it not ‘bigger’!
Путешественник I didn’t realise how taxing and difficult the Camino is…. I’ve got much increased respect for my friend who did half of it on her own, she’s in her late 60’s and has a number of health issues. Good for Carol for keeping going despite being under the weather!
